Hello lovely readers, I thought I would share with you a few projects I have been working on recently! I have some product reviews planned over the next week and I am also currently undertaking a 30 day skin boosting smoothie and juice challenge from Revivify London, an amazing Mayfair based Aesthetic clinic. There will be updates from The Revivify London Facebook page and twitter I would love to know if you try any of the recipes!
Here is my favourite recipe so far:
Blueberry, banana, praline pecan smoothie
Ingredients
two cups of blueberries or dairy free blueberry yoghurt
two cups of almond/ praline milk
two cups of almond/ praline milk
a handful of pecan nuts
one banana
a pinch of cinnamon
one banana
a pinch of cinnamon
Optional extras: spinach, goji berries.
Blueberries are one of the most amazing nourishing fruits for your
skin, abundant in antioxidants and phytochemicals, they can help reduce
cellular damage and benefit ageing skin.
Bananas are a fantastic
source of Vitamin B-6. B-6 has several roles to play in the skin, it
decreases the skin's sensitivity to testosterone, helping to break acne
cycles. Potassium is essential for healthy skin and is key in
regulating the water content of cells- therefore essential for
glowing, hydrated skin.
Pecans are rich in many beneficial skin
minerals such as zinc. Zinc is key in antioxidant processes and is thought to work together with B-6 and is thought to regulate
sebum production in the skin- which could be of indubitable benefit to those with
overly oily skin or acne.
Almonds from almond or praline milk is
rich in Vitamin E as Vitamin E works hand in hand with vitamin C to
protect cells against damage, this can help repair skin damage and slow down ageing processes! A delicious, skin nourishing smoothie!
I hope you've enjoyed this post! I would love to know- what are your best skin boosting smoothie recipes?
